Protecting your feet = protecting your body
The shoe of choice for many volleyball programs on the collegiate and club level is the adidas vuelo. There is a reason that this shoe is so popular for athletes, parents and programs. A quick overview of girls volleyball shoes necessities: arch support, breathability, flat bottom, and traction are all taken care of with this shoe. The flat surface with arch support is crucial for knee issues. It helps maintain arch integrity which in turn takes pressure off of your knees. Knee injuries are one of the main chronic injuries for girls volleyball players. Taking care of your feet with the right volleyball shoes and orthotics will help you reduce your likeliness of this injury over the life of your volleyball career. Back to the adidas vuelo, it was my collegiate program's volleyball shoes of choice. I have a wider foot and it is well accommodated by the size of the shoe. When ordering it be aware that it runs about a half size larger then you would think so if you are a 10 order a 10.5. It also is very stiff when you first wear it, so if you ordered the shoe in your normal size be prepared for lots of blisters. Even if you did learn the secret to ordering the volleyball shoes at a half size larger you will need to break it in before wearing it full time in practice. Enjoy your shoes and be prepared to buy a new pair every season, tread is very important and they get worn down quickly. For more volleyball news please visit my blog.

I had two pairs of Vuelo's that lasted me 5 years total before replacing them only because the bottoms had been worn down. I have seen many college teams wearing these as well. I recently bought a pair of Asics and enjoy those a lot, hopefully they last as long!
